Plant
Consorci MARE manages the Integral Waste Treatment Centre “Las Marinas”, located in the municipality of El Campello. In operation since 2009, it receives the urban solid waste generated by the municipalities of its territorial scope, which mostly comes from the ordinary municipal collection and, to a lesser extent, from the segregated collection of green and bulky waste that is collected in the ecoparks.

Ecoparks
The ecoparks are specialised centres for the collection, selection and recovery of the waste that we generate in our homes and that we can’t dispose of in any of the traditional collection containers that are found in the municipalities. These facilities have common containers (plastic, glass and paper and cardboard) and others for specific waste such as batteries, debris, furniture, appliances or oils, among others.

Transfer
plants
The use of these facilities allows the optimisation of transport and efficiencies of the collection services. The purpose of the transfer plants is to prevent urban collection trucks in the towns that are farthest from the plant making long-distance trips. The urban waste collection trucks arrive in these plants and after their conditioning, they are transferred to the treatment plant by means of containers and specific transport vehicles.
Currently there are two transfer plants in the area of the regional plan managed by Consorci MARE:
Benidorm
Presta el servicio de transferencia y transporte hasta la Planta de Tratamiento de El Campello de los residuos mezcla, procedentes de la recogida ordinaria de los municipios de la Marina Baja (Altea, Benidorm, Finestrat, La Nucía y Polop). Es gestionada por VAERSA S.A.
Además presta el servicio de transferencia y transporte a los residuos envases recogidos por los Sistemas de Gestión de Recogida Selectiva en los municipios consorciados con destino a plantas de selección de envases indicadas por Ecoembes.
Dénia
Presta el servicio de transferencia y transporte hasta la Planta de Tratamiento de El Campello de los residuos mezcla procedentes de la recogida ordinaria de los municipios de la Marina Alta: Atzúbia (L´), Beniarbeig, Benidoleig, Dénia, Gata de Gorgos, Jávea, Mancomunidad de la Rectoría, Mancomunidad Orba y Vall de Laguar, Mancomunidad de la Vall del Pop, Ondara, Pedreguer, Pego, Poblets (Els), Teulada, Vall de Gallinera y El Verger.
Actualmente la Estación de Transferencia de Dénia es gestionada por Reciclatge de Residus la Marina Alta S.A.
